Our foundational 'Embrace Natya' Workshop

We, at Pragati, are of the belief that dance and traditional dance is for everyone to experience and enjoy. Towards that, we have curated a series of in-person and online workshops that are geared towards people interested in learning about a traditional artform and cultural appreciation focussed on movement.

FAQ

These are some of our most frequently asked questions. Please feel free to reach out if you have any more questions.

Yes, most definitely. We all start that way and this is a great way to explore this art-form starting from a blank canvas.

Yes, certainly. We all innately or through training have the ability to dance and this workshop will only encourage your dance explorations further

We can create custom workshops for Bharatanatyam dancers, so please reach out to us and mention your background when you reach out.

Yes, this requires very little pre-requisites beyond general mobility and an interest to dance.

This is not meant to be physically exhausting. While the workshop participation needs no pre-requisites beyond general mobility, you are in a position to choose how much you want to follow-along and how much you want to observe

No, that is not the intention of these workshops. While you will improve appreciation of this art form, these are traditional art-forms learnt over decades to truly master the art-form and even then, there is constant exploration that is possible and encouraged.

You will be able to appreciate and engage in dance and movement-based on Bharatanatyam frameworks and understand the nuances of this dance form.
